A police car was damaged after a driver failed to stop in Warminster in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A black Mercedes Saloon didn't stop for police along Weymouth Road, Warminster at around 2:45am and reversed into the police are before driving off also causing damage to the Mercedes.
The female officer who was in the car at the time of the incident was injured and substantial damage was also done to the police car.
Ross Fleming of 5 Linnet Lane, Melksham was arrested at his home hours after the incident happened and was charged with criminal damage, aggravated vehicle taking assault on a police officer and driving a vehicle dangerously.
Mr Fleming was also driving when disqualified.
Inspector Lindsey Winter said: "This was a particularly nasty and deliberate incident which resulted in significant damage to property and injury to a police officer. Whilst I am pleased that the offender was arrested reasonably quickly afterwards and has since been dealt with as a priority at court, it is a disappointing thing this happened in Warminster."
He appeared before the Magistrates Court Monday, 14, January 2013 and is being remanded in prison.
A trial date will be sometime in February.
