Rail services between Bristol and Salisbury, on the Warminster line, are being severely affected by a derailment at Westbury train station in the early hours of this morning.

At approximately 2.00am this morning (Tuesday 6 December) an out-of-service passenger train derailed, while it was travelling very slowly at about 5mph.

Nobody was on the train apart from the driver, who was uninjured.

Disruption will probably continue into the afternoon, with passengers likely to expect delays of up to 1 hour on the line.
