Elderly man knocked down in Warminster town centre
By wp_alistair | Wednesday, October 19, 2011, 11:43
At approximately 10.30am this morning (Wednesday) an elderly man was knocked down at the traffic lights junction between Market Place, High Street and Weymouth Street. It appears that a Wiltshire Council cleaning lorry (pictured) was involved in the accident, and police and an ambulance attended the scene. The gentleman was looked after by staff at Northwooduk Estate Agents whilst they waited for the ambulance to arrive, and although he did not appear to have sustained any serious injuries he did have cuts and bruises to his head and was naturally quite shaken.

It always feels like a slightly odd sequence as well - the green man never quite seems to come on when you expect it to. Inevitably some pedestrians try and cut the corner or make an "L" across two streets, which is also going to be a fairly risky strategy as the sequence isn't long enough....

ReportRegarding the Gent who was knocked down at traffic lights!
It was just a matter of time before this happened.
I was stopped there recently the light went Green and was about to take off when a gentleman just stepped out and crossed the road in front of me. This is not the first time it has happened. People just don't take any notice of the traffc light and seem to do their own thing. They just cross where they like and when they like!! It really makes my blood boil!!
