Healthier Curries in Warminster

If you're partial to a korma, tikka masala or jalfrezi, you'll be delighted to know that thanks to a pilot project in Warminster the curries on our High Street will be healthier.
-
Pop in and enjoy a healthier curry at your local Warminster Indian!
The Toran, Agra, Assam and Paprika restaurants, which all have 4 or 5 star food hygiene ratings, will be offering alternative, healthier options of their most popular dishes, following guidance from Wiltshire Council.
The dishes will be lower in fat, salt and sugar.
If the new menus prove popular then the pilot scheme might be rolled out across the country.
With the government looking to tackle increasing obesity across the UK, and with Chicken Tikka Masala being one of the most popular national dishes, it seems logical to try and make indian dishes healther...good luck to the project and see you soon at your nearest Indian restaurant!

I think this is excellent, and very enterprising too. Indian food is such a treat, but to be able to enjoy it knowing it is a healthy option, makes it even more special.

ReportThis is all good stuff but presumably fewer people are actually eating out because of the recession? I would have thought that indian ready meals from supermarkets and home-cooking curries were as important to keep heatlhy?
