Jewellery theft on the rise in Westbury and Warminster

Wiltshire Police has received reports of house burglaries in Westbury and Warminster over the last two weeks.

Remember to lock all doors and windows before leaving your property.
It has been reported that burglars are targeting bungalows and stealing jewellery from the houses with six reports of theft being recorded.
The burglaries have been reported near Copheap Lane in Warminster and Leighton Park, Meadow Road, Thornbury Road and Chalford in Westbury.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "By bringing this to your attention it is hoped as local residents you can all be extra vigilant and report anything suspicious to the local police via the 101 number or 999 if you think there is a crime in action."
How to keep your property safe
• Close all curtains in the evenings to avoid bringing any attention to your property
• Lock all windows and doors before leaving the house
• Remove all valuables such a jewellery away from view
• Make sure your property alarm is set and in working order
