Holidays Near Longleat Inaugral Meeting
Friday 10th February, 12 pm
Full Moon at Rudge
Friday 10th February sees the inaugral meeting of a group of local businesses who have collaborated to set up a new website www.holidaysnearlongleat.co.uk The website aims to offer everything a visitor to the area may need, including hotels, B&Bs and visitor attractions.
The businesses used to advertise on the Longleat website, but following Longleat's acquisition of two large hotels, Bishopstrow House and Homewood Park Hotel, this facility was withdrawn in December 2011.
West Wiltshire MP Dr Andrew Murrison will attend the meeting, to be held at the Full Moon at Rudge on Friday 10th February 2012. Debbie Rickhuss, owner of Lavender Lodge, Corsley holiday cottage who has organised the event, is enthusiastic about the opportunity for local businesses to network and work together to fill vacancies. The website will highlight the variety of activities in the area as well as promoting the fantastic attractions at the Longleat Estate.
Comments
Any group or activity designed to promote the area's businesses and attractions has got to be a good thing. I wish the group well - shame it has to be done but with Longleat being more corporate and ploughing its accommodation/food and drink business into Bishopstrow and the Bath Arms at Horningsham, its' every man for himself now!
