Longleat Safari and Adventure Park are getting into the Christmas spirit putting up a giant Christmas tree in the Great Hall of Longleat House.

The eleven metres tall tree grown in the Wiltshire forestry took a team of fourteen people to get into Longleat House.

Steve Blyth, Longleat House Steward said: "It was really something of a military operation to get the tree down here in the first place and then manoeuvre it into the right spot in the great hall."

"As it's a living tree it gives off a fantastic pine smell which is really helping to get everyone in a festive mood."

As well as the tree being one of the main attractions for Longleat, other events such as appearances from pantomime characters Snow White, Cinderella and Peter Pan, the annual outdoor ice rink, and a chance to meet real reindeer.

Festivities at the park begin today (Monday, 19, November 2012) and will be running until Monday, 7, January 2013 (excluding Christmas Day).
