Possible localised flooding across Wiltshire

Wiltshire is experiencing torrential rain which may result in flooding causing travel disruptions this New Year's Eve. 

Wet weather across the county is set to continue into the evening threatening Wiltshire Roads and river levels with a weather warning issued by the Met Office.

A strong South Westerly wind may also affect places on high ground. 

The road between Holt and Staverton near Trowbridge is currently closed due to flooding with a diversion going through Bradford on Avon towards Melksham and Chippenham.

On Tuesday, the rain is expected to ease however some flood warnings may still be in place especially in areas that are close to the River Avon. 

Last month, Wiltshire saw some of the worst flooding after heavy rain with homes and businesses being damaged.
