The New Year period was a a relatively busy one across the towns of Warminster and Westbury, but fortunately reports of serious crime/assaults has remained low.

There were a number of reports of fighting in public and a number of persons assaulted, most of these reports were  dealt with by the local

response officers from Trowbridge.

As far as Warminster itself is concerned, overnight on New Year's Eve between 6pm and into New Year's Day morning unknown offender/s visited North Row in Warminster and reportedly damaged 6 parked vehicles. The damage which appears to be deliberate and malicious involves wing mirrors being broken on all 6 vehicles. If anyone saw the damage being committed or has any knowledge as to who may be responsible is asked to contact the Duty Sgt at Warminster police Station on 101 ext 726815

Furthermore, at approximately 12.30am on the morning of Monday 2nd January 2012 the occupants of a house in Westleigh, Warminster were disturbed to find a small fire on their front doorstep. The fire, which appears to have been deliberately started using petrol, is extremely concerning especially as it appears targetted towards the occupants of that house.

The CID Dept at Salisbury are investigating the matter and are hoping to progress their enquiries with your help. There are a number of persons yet to be interviewed but the CID officers would really like to talk to anyone who feels they know why the incident happened or who might be responsible. DC Kate Martin on 101 723528. Fortunately on this occassion no one was hurt or injured. The motive for this crime is not yet known and whilst Police enquiries are ongoing the residents of Westleigh are asked to be aware and mindful of anything linked or suspicious.
