Where in Warminster to find a nail varnish that doesn't vanish?

Dressing up for that special occasion? - hands in a mess and in need of a boost? How many in Warminster have tried the gel nail varnish which appears to be virtually indestructible?

For me nail varnish is something I usually keep for high days and holidays - but when dressing up for a special occasion varnished nails can make all the difference as a finishing touch. In the passt, as a clumsy, uncordinated individual keeping fingernails free from knocks and scratches has not been easy. Usually before I am even out of the front door some corner on at least one fingernail has chipped or peeled.
So when Kirsty Gilmour at Beauty Matters in George Street offered a manicure using new gel nail varnish I was eager to see what it involved. This is a treatment, not available in the shops as it has to be "cured" by placing the nail under a ultraviolet light. Nothing different is felt - but the hand is put into a small machine which shines the light on each layer as it is applied.
My treatment began with shaping the nails and removing dead skin from the cuticles. Kirsty then buffed the nails and applied a base, to fix the Ph of the nail, then a clear base to hold the colour.
With 24 colours to choose from ranging from a wonderful Teal green through all the shades of red, pink and purple, I felt decidedly unadventurous going for a natural pink called Posh.
Kirsty had chosen a smart charcoal grey called Vogue for her nails. After two separate layers of colour a finishing gloss is applied. Each time the hand has to be held under the light for a minute and the whole treatment takes about 45 minutes.
The result is for me revolutionary. Amazingly five days later my nails are without a chip inspite of carrying on with all the usual chores, including gardening, without gloves.
This gel treatment costs £20, as opposed to the normal manicure which costs £14, but Kirsty says it will last for two weeks. "This is a long lasting treatment which is very low maintenance, says Kirsty."
If you do nothing else in the way of a beauty fix have a go at this - "dressed up nails" can be a permanent feature - not just for special occasions!
Kirsty says it is possible to remove the varnish at home by soaking for ten minutes in remover but customers who come in regularly just wait to have it removed at their next treatment."
