A busy June in Warminster

There is a phenomenal amount going on in Warminster during the month of June. In the pre-summer holiday season residents of and visitors to Warminster will be spoilt for choice for activities left, right and centre.

June....supposed to be sunny!
This weekend (16/17) sees the Warminster Wobble, an annual event dedicated to all things "cycling", and tomorrow (Sunday) in Warminster Town Park the main festival unfolds from 11am with a mountain bike trophy challenge, trade stands, entertainment, BMX display, weird and wacky bikes, cycling advice, refreshments and competitions.
Also tomorrow, Sunday, Horningsham Village Fayre is opened at 2pm by celebrity chef Lesley Waters, and the village as usual will be putting on a great deal of entertainment and stalls to delight the villagers and visitors.
Boyton Farm in Wylye Valley has its' fourth Open Sunday tomorrow and prmises to be the best ever - despite the weather! Alongside the insanely popular trailer rides around the farm children (and grown-ups!) will be able to see Tamworth Pigs, Sussex Cows and Hampshire Down Sheep grazing and chilling out on the farm. Feed the pet lambs, walk along the lovely River Wylye, sausage making and craft demomnstrations. Oo-arr!
At the Manor House in Upton Lovell tomorrow afternoon there will be an Afternoon Garden Party - come rain or shine - in aid of the Wessex MS Therapy Centre in Warminster. Entrance fee by donation, afternoon tea with vintage china, Warminster school band, tombola, bouncy castle, stalls and entertainment.
At the Athenaeum in Warminster on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 June there will be a production of the classic Shakespeare play "A Midsummer Night's Dream".
On Saturday 23 June the Warminster Brass Band hold their Summer Concert at the Minster Church from 7pm to 9pm, entrance by donation.
Also on the 23rd June is the Bishopstrow Annual Fete with Hog Roast, on the Playing Field close to pretty St Aldhelm's Church. Cake and plant stalls, bottles, teas, second-hand items, pottery, jewellery. Competitions and raffles, and plenty of space for the children to run around or even fly a kite!Bring your kite to enjoy our large, open venue!
The Annual "Fun Day in the Park" in aid of the Warminster Carnival takes place on Sunday 24 June from midday until around 5pm. Carnival Princes and Princess Competition, Raft Race, WCR roadshow, Mini-Olympics, Scarecrow Trail, Pony and Trap Rides, Face Painting and Charity Stalls.
On Thursday 28 June Kingdown School in Warminster holds its' Open Day for prospective parents - or past pupils- to visit the school, meet the staff and get a really good feel for this "outstanding" school.
Wylye Valley Primary School in Codford holds its' Summer Fete 2012 on Friday 29 June from 6pm to 8pm, with a fundraising event to refurbish the playground. BBQ, Novelty Dog Show, Refreshments. Children's Games, Bouncy Castle, Tombola, Stalls and Car boot sale.
