Lesley Fudge is trekking the Inca Trail in Peru in April and aspiring to raise at least £1000 for the Warminster Branch of the Royal British Legion. A voluntary welfare case worker for the Legion, Lesley supports families and individuals in need from veterans to young serving military families.
The Inca Trail reaches over 14,000 feet and I am training hard for stamina and strength, just the altitude to contend with along with the minus zero temperatures at night in a tent on the Andes. I am doing the trek with my son-in-law (and sharing the tent) who is a serving soldier currently in Sierra Leone. This is not one of those trips where admin costs take lots of the money, we were doing the trek anyway and I want to put money into the Warminster Branch welfare funds.
We have all seen the repatriations in Wooton Bassett. These are so sad and must not be forgotten, but for every young soldier who dies, there are many who are injured and have their futures changed forever. The British Legion helps these people to rebuild their lives in so many ways. The Warminster Branch is a part of the Legion registered charity (Registered Charity 219279)
If you would like to help reach me to reach the target of £1000, please email me at lesleyfudge@me.com and help the Legion to serve others. Any amount is so gratefully received, Thank you so much. Lesley
