Warminster MP Andrew Murrison has expressed his support for the Prime Minister's statement yesterday on the future for Britain’s Armed Forces.

He said; “Given the huge deficit the government has inherited I think this thoughtful and measured blueprint is to be welcomed. It will ensure that Britain continues to be a major player internationally and to retain its place at the top table.

“Whilst the fine detail will emerge over the coming weeks and months and there may be some impact on jobs, my initial take on the white paper is that our area should not be too badly affected. Indeed, it could well be that as some parts of the Army are expanded in response to the threats identified by the review there might be opportunities locally.”
