Warminster now has the most comprehensive bus service in its history but up coming government spending cuts will almost certainly increase the pressure on costs of provision. Now that the majority of users are the holders of bus passes, and travel free, it is vitally important to protect the interests of that group by ensuring that the route network and timetables are designed for the combination of maximum efficiency and customer appeal.

I use the bus to Salisbury and villages along the Wylye Valley regularly and would be extremely disappointed if there were any cuts to this service. Surely the more regular and reliable it can be the more it will be used?

The recent move of the Bridge Street stop in Salisbury 80 metres away from the town centre means that passengers on the service 24 have to alight there or at the bus station, which is a considerable inconvenience to older members of the community, What is needed is a set down stop in Silver Street, outside Boots and the terminus of the route to be moved to Queen Street, which will considerably increase the accessability of the shopping areas to service 24 passengers. I think our local politicians need reminding that bus users are also voters and council tax payers.
