After the tragic death of an Upton Lovell couple on the A36 between Knook and Codford, what do you think about the road? It is widely considered to be a dangerous stretch, so is it time for a bypass that links Heytesbury with Codford to avoid any further accidents - regardless of the financial cost?

It is a fact that you are 3x more likely to have an accident on this 3 mile stretch of road with 4 notorious blackspots, than on any other road in the UK, This latest accident brings the death toll to at least 13 in as many years. Wiltshire Councils road improvement scheme was turned down by the goverment in 2003 .
You can find road death records for any road with this BBC interactive map. http://tinyurl.com/77vhs99 in 2003.
