Date for annual service at Imber church

Neil Skelton sends news of services at St Giles Church in Imber, the deserted village on Salisbury Plain that is only open to the public at certain times during the year.

St Giles Church, Imber.
The annual service will be held on Saturday 18th
September at 3pm. The church will be open from 10 - 5 and on Sunday 19th September from 11 - 5.
The bus
enthusiasts will be running a bus service from Warminster on the 18th.
Timetable
not yet to hand.
On Saturday 18th December the Act of
Remembrance
will take place at 11 am. This will be followed at 2.30 by
the Annual
Carol Concert which, this year, will be lead by the Bratton Silver Band.
The
roads through Imber Village will be open to the public from 6pm on Friday
17th December until 6pm on Monday 3rd January. Weather permitting
the
church will be open on some of these days. Details later.

Due to pressure of military training the roads across Salisbury Plain through Imber will not be open to the public during August this year.
