Longleat's latest arrivals - pygmy goat kids.
Five African Pygmy Goat kids are the latest Longleat arrivals. The kids, two sets of twins and one singleton, were all born on the same day.
Senior
Safari Warden, Beverley Evans explained “We have three female African Pygmy
Goats within the East African Reserve and we were keen to find them a male to
breed with. Young Rocky from mid Glamorgan was loaned to us for only six weeks.
“The babies are only 18 cm in height and are
definitely high on the “ahh” stakes with our visitors”!
The
African Pygmy Goat originates in the Cameroon
valley of West Africa.
