Further reductions have been made in the remaining stock in Alworths High Street store. Two weeks after hearing that the shop was to close manager Shirley Fitzsimmons says they are still waiting to hear when the shop will finally shut its doors.
Meanwhile there are bargains to be had on the shelves. Prices of all entertainment goods have been reduced by 40%, all toys and gift wrap items are down by 30% and everything else has a 20% discount.
They may not know exactly which day the shop will finally close but the staff do know that they won't be open on the 29th, the day of the Royal Wedding.

When will the Town Council been having its first meeting to buy this base camp between Dewey House and the Assembly Rooms?
Better still lets consider a fund for the Old Post Office when that is put up for sale.
