Dewey House was turned into a temporary film studio today when Dave Simpson of Your Stories  came to make a video documentary about sky watchers of the 60s.  This will be a record of personal recollections by people who skywatched during the 60s and 70s.

As Dave Simpson says, "For several decades Cradle Hill, Warminster, has been one of the world’s most famous UFO-sighting hotspots. Your Stories is producing a video documentary that

captures for posterity the recollections of those who sky-watched from

this famous vantage point."

The video will

concentrate on giving a feel for peoples’ thoughts, expectations and

emotions at the time. Participants were invited to describe why they

first went to Cradle Hill, what they did and  discovered

whilst there and how they now look back on those times.

Among the five people that were interviewed were Kevin Goodman who has written the book Warminster UFO: Cradle of Contact  and who was one of the speakers at the Weird 10 conference being held in the Athenaeum Centre and Peter Paget who had travelled from Italy specially to make the recording.  Peter lived in Star House off Portway which formed a base for much of the early sky watching activities.

If any Warminsterpeople

readers sky-watched from Cradle Hill during the 1960s or 1970s, Your Stories

would be very pleased to hear from them. Even if they don’t want to

appear on camera, any information or photos of the period would be

appreciated.  Contact askme@yourstories.co.uk or phone 07986 862772.
