The Economy and Tourism Group of the

Warminster and Villages Community Partnership heard some interesting faacts about Warminster visitors when they met last week.  Volunteers from Warminster School helped to conduct the first benchmarking exercise on Friday 9th July and had recroded footfall at

ten entrances to the town centre.

Their findings included the following information:

  • total of 3,602 people walked

    into the town,

  •  50% had travelled to Warminster by car,
  • 15% had travelled by bus,
  • 90% people questioned

    lived in BA12.

Valuable data was

gathered including views on the appearance and  cleanliness of Warminster, the variety

of shops and satisfaction with the visit.

The Group learned that there will be a further benchmarking exercise in the autumn.
