The following topics were discussed at the meeting of  Warminster's Town Development Committee this week.

  • Residents'

Parking – members heard that Wiltshire Council will include residents’

parking permits in any future parking reviews.

  •  Roundabout at

    Copheap junction with Westbury

Road – agreed that no action to be taken on

    this.

  • Amendments

to parking controls suggested by Wilts Council were discussed and accepted.

  • Street

Lighting – Wilts Council is investigating the possibility of saving energy

by switching off some street lights during hours of darkness.  Committee agreed that it does not have

the resources to carry out a consultation about this within the town but

would ask the villages if this could be done.

  • New Allotments

    – possible land for these had been identified south of Battlesbury

Barracks.  The Clerk has been asked

to investigate rights of way and public access.

  • Bus

Shelter – request received for a new bus shelter at the stop outside the

shop on West Parade.  The Clerk was

asked to investigate costs for this.

  • Cycling

in Three Horseshoes Mall. Complaints had been received about cycling in the Mall and it

was agreed to write to the Beat Officer about this.

The Town Council were told that seating would be put back once the new CCTV cameras are installed in the Mall. This was due to happen in July - see http://tinyurl.com/364aqzv

Hope it will be soon - anybody else agree that the mall looks very unfriendly without any seating?

When can we have some seating back in the Mall.
Is new seating coming back or are the elderly and the disabled people of warminster going to be more inconvenienced because there is nowhere to rest?
