Should there be traffic calming in the Grovelands?

Is it possible that Wilts Council carried out a consultation on a Warminster housing estate without informing the Town Council?
At last night's Planning Advisory Committee councillors
were concerned that they had not been aware of, nor involved in,
a consultation carried out by Wiltshire Council to reconsider a need for traffic calming measures on the Grovelands
Estate.
The Grovelands estate will be linked into the new Victoria Fields development currently under construction by Persimmon Homes Wessex.
"The traffic calming measures were proposed to stop people using Grovelands estate roads as a rat run into town," said Town Clerk Heather Abernethie." We have been told that only two people responded to the survey and both did not want the measures. One was a resident and one was from a bus company - but we have nothing on record about this survey."
Last night councillors
resolved that the Traffic Calming measures should not be removed until the
results of Wilts Council's consultation were known and an evaluation
of their removal been received.
If you were one of those taking part in the Grovelands consultation, the Council would like to hear from you: 01985 214487 or www.warminster.uk.com.
