Wiltshire Council send out registration forms for voters.

Election staff at Wiltshire Council will be sending out forms to
households across Wiltshire over the coming weeks to ensure people are
on the electoral register.
This will be the basis for the planned
referendum on voting reform on May 5, 2011 and by following instructions on the form, people can ensure they are able to have a say next year.
John Watling, head of electoral services, said: “Registering to vote is
simple, quick and easy. If people’s details haven’t changed they can
simply reply by phone or online via the internet.“
"The annual canvass form needs to be updated with the details of
everyone in each household who is eligible to vote. The form then needs
to be returned to us as soon as possible.
People may not realise that they have to register every
year. By completing the annual canvass form that comes through their
door, they can be assured that their vote will be secured for next
year.”
“If anyone knows they are going to be unable to attend a polling
station on May 5 they can apply now for a
postal or proxy vote. Details
about alternative ways to vote can be found at www.aboutmyvote.co.uk.”
A new register will be
published by 1 December 2010
Special provisions to register also apply to members of the UK armed
forces serving abroad to allow them to vote. For more information, people can contact the Wiltshire Council election team on 0300 456 0112 or visit www.aboutmyvote.co.uk.
