Application deadline approaches for awards to talented Warminster students

There is one week left till the deadline of 1st March for applications from talented Warminster students for the Sheila Toomey Awards.

Every year the Warminster Athenaeum Trust makes two awards for young people between the ages of 16 and 21 with an interest in the arts. One is for those living in Warminster or the surrounding villages to help further their studies in art, music or drama and the other is to encourage service to arts in the community.
The Award is set up in memory of Sheila Toomey who died in 2001.
Sheila was a great supporter of the arts in Warminster and much involved in the setting up of the Athenaeum Trust.
A recent winner was Cecilia Sultana De Maria, aged 20, who is in her second year of studies for a B.Mus at the Royal College of Music. On 16th February Cecilia appeared on ITV1 accompanying Stars in the 2010 Brit Awards.
