Central Car Park Development for Warminster - are you against this plan?

Warminster’s Mayor Cllr Tony Nicklin has urged all Warminster residents who are against the plans to develop the Central Car Park area to attend a meeting on Wednesday.
“The more people that can come and support our speakers the better,” says Cllr Nicklin. “On three separate occasions Warminster Town Council has voted against this development which includes the demolition of our Library, the building of a new supermarket and the loss of car parking spaces. We believe it would have a very detrimental effect on our town centre.”
“This planning application is on the agenda of the Western Area Planning Committee of Wiltshire Council on Wednesday. We are allowed three slots of three minutes for people to speak. Richard Haes will talk on behalf of Warminster Civic Trust, Michael Mounde on behalf of Warminster and Villages Development Trust and Peter Blackburn as President of Warminster Chamber of Commerce.”
“As Mayor I am also allowed to speak. Many people feel that the wishes of Warminster are not being listened to. The more people that can attend the meeting, the more it shows how strongly we feel and gives more weight to our argument.”
Details of the plans can be seen at Warminster Town Council offices in Dewey House, North Row and the meeting will be held in the Council Chamber of the old West Wilts District Council offices in Bradley Road, Trowbridge at 6 pm.

Comments
We have a perfectly good library already with useful additional space. People shop in the town just because these is free carparking. The payments in Frome have been a disaster for the town.
In the present economic climat ethan this be justified?

ReportI would be very sorry to see the loss of car parking space in Warminster as it is difficult enough to find a space at the moment when visiting the town. Linda Blake
