Dr Andrew Murrison, MP and the Mayor were two of the guests at the Fairtrade Wine and Chocolate Tasting evening held by the Warminster Fairtrade group in Dewey House last Saturday evening after the excellent Mayor's Community Day..

Everyone seemed to enjoy tasting the wide variety of unusual Fairtrade chocolate brands and some excellent Fairtrade wine supplied by the Co-op.  There was even an opportunity to taste both wine and chocolate together – quite an unusual but delicious experience.

During the evening, Susan Harris, Chair of the Warminster Fairtrade Committee, presented the Mayor with a certificate of renewal of Warminster’s Fairtrade status.  Warminster became a Fairtrade Town in 2008.  Fairtrade status has to be renewed regularly to check that the level of support from retail outlets, shops and organisations is maintained.
