Followng Warminster's recent Town Council meeting  -  see http://tinyurl.com/34yr83w -  hundreds of questionnaires are about to be sent out to residents regarding the provision of community services and the Assemmbly Rooms' future.

To

ensure that the consultation is statistically valid names and address

have been selected randomly from the electoral roll, although those who

reply will remain anonymous.

Heather

Abernethie, Warminster’s Town Clerk, said “Warminster has a higher

proportion of the over 65’s than almost any other area of Wiltshire and

the number is expected to rise by 27% in the coming years. In addition

we will see hundreds of new homes built locally. Working with Wiltshire

Council and other partners the Council has

to plan for the delivery of a wide range of community services to

support our residents in the future.

This consultation will help the Council

to decide what needs to be provided and whether the Assembly Rooms

could be refurbished for that purpose as well as keeping a hall for

public hire.”

The consultation runs for one month and residents who receive the paperwork are asked to return it by the closing date of 11th October. The results and analysis will be publicly available by the end of that month.
