Santa Fun Run at Longleat

On Sunday 5th December, Lord Bath must have looked out from his penthouse suite and wondered if he was dreaming! Longleat was surrounded with hundreds of Father Christmas look alikes, some with their dogs (not reindeer!) all set to walk nearly three kilometres through the woods, to the Bath Arms and back down the drive. The idea was to raise as much money as possible for the Spinal Injuries Unit at Salisbury District Hospital.

Santas ready to go!

The warm up
Lord Bath came amongst the participants and announced the event ready to start, so the runners set off before the walkers and dogs.
The sun shone, everyone was happy and black labradors were everywhere - trying to identify their owners by smell rather than sight, as everyone looked the same!
Medals were presented at the finish line to all who entered (some of whom did the distance in less than twenty minutes!)
The Bath Arms offered hungry walkers and runners delicious roast pork rolls and hot coffee. The event was very efficiently organised and hopefully will have raised a goodly sum.
