A cold, snowy afternoon on the first Tuesday in January saw the return of artist Bernard Willington to complete a painting demonstration for the Warminster Art Society.

The artist divides his time between Georgia, Atlanta and Westbury; so the Art Society was fortunate to be able to ask him back before he flies overseas again.

Bernard's return was to show the members the finished painting of a subject started at an earlier demonstration  in the Autumn, and to explain how he came to the end result.  He shared many tips on composition, techniques, and how to keep focused whilst painting outdoors.  Bernard also spoke of the golden ratio, a mathematical rule, which pleases the eye and can be seen repeated in nature in many different guises.  The painting demonstrated uses this rule.

The Society meets every Tuesday afternoon until May at the Community Centre in the town park.  The next demonstration, on the first Tuesday in February, will be Martin Yeoman who trained from 1975 - 1979 at the Royal Academy School, London.
