News of the structure of our new government with a Conservative/Liberal Democrat coalition has brought to an end the days of speculation following last week's General Election.

Dr Andrew Murrison, who was returned as the Conservative MP for our South West Wilts constituency last week with a majority of 10,367 over Lib Dem candidate Trevor Carbin, has given the following comment:
"We are entering
uncharted waters with the formation of a coalition between
Conservatives and the Lib Dems.
Many will find this an unlikely union,
even an uncomfortable one, but politicians have to operate with
the hand they're dealt by the voters.
The priority is to ensure stable
government that has a chance of sorting out the huge structural deficit
David Cameron has inherited.
I wish the coalition well and will do
what I can to support it in the national interest."
