The old Warminster Woolworths is set to become one of the first new Alworths stores. By the end of next week Warminster shoppers will be able to visit the variety store which was once Woolworths. Andy Latham who worked for Woolworths for 25 years has joined up with a team of 15 former colleagues to resurrect the high street stores under the new name of Alworths. He plans to four more stores before Christmas and a further 17 in the next twelve months.
Warminster Alworths is the fourth new store to open and, like its predecessor, will stock a selection of toys, stationery, homeware, garden products and sweets.
Recruitment of new staff is under way and the closing date for applications has been extended to Wednesday 11. Twenty permanent and temporary staff are being taken on and anybody interested should go to www.peopletime.co.uk.recruitment.php or telephone 0845 1271370.
The new Alworths will be officially opened at 10.00am on Friday 20th November.
