Warminster on line for another steam train passing through

This weekend sees another steam hauled excursion train passing through Warminster. 

This time it will be pulled by BR Pacific No. 70013, Oliver Cromwell, known as Britain’s great steam survivor. On August 11th 1968 she hauled British Rail’s very last steam train, ending an era that stretched back to 1804.

The train is due at Warminster station at 11.46 am on Saturday next 6th March on its way to Bath and Bristol.  

If may be possible to join the train at Bath for the last lap of its journey. The outing is run by the Railway Touring Company tel 01553 661500 and at the time of writing seats were still available.

The train is due at Bath at 12.20 arriving at Bristol at 12.34.  The return journey leaves Bristol at 16.35, calling at Bath at 16.50 and passing through Warminster at 17.25 approx.
