As Warminster’s neighbouring stately home, Longleat House, prepares for another season of visitors, a full spring cleaning programme has started in its Elizabethan Great Hall.
-
Steve Blyth (Longleat House Steward) and Ken Windess (Longleat House Conservator) use an adapted vacuum cleaner to remove every speck of dust.
-
The giant prehistoric Irish elk antlers measure 9ft across.
A 30ft scaffold tower is needed to reach the ceiling with its hammer beams and the suits of civil war armour which hang on the panelled walls.
