One of the best Indian restaurants in the South........ and I;ve tried a lot of them. The menu has a lot of choice compared to the regular Indian restaurants I've been to.I like to try different meals every week, a few weeks ago i tried the Novraton Kurma, WOW so many flavors, you have to try it......... The food always test fresh and full of flavor, the service is second to none, plenty of parking, all in all a great place to eat.

Toran has started a new era in Indian Cuisine where all foods are freshly prepared with no artificial colouring, additive and preservative.

Last night we ventured out to Codford to Toran, mainly because i could not find anywhere to park in town, i was most pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. I have driven past it enough times but had never gone in. The reception was really good, the door opened for us, the bar area was very bright and modern, lots of marble. The restaurant was bigger than i had imagined, although its been a long time since it was a little chef. The restaurant was again well lit and a modern feel, no fake indian decor.
The 'traditional' fare was on the menu but buried away, leading you to try the house specialities which i am glad i did.The meal certainly looked like fresh ingredients had been used. I had Chat Puri to start which was nice but needed some of the sauces from the popadoms tray. Ohh none of that nasty lime pickle either , instead a plum type sauce far easier to eat. For main I had a Chicken Green Masala which was marked with 1 clilli symbol, perhaps it could have been hotter, it was spicy and was very tasty and wholesome.
The wife had a Korma which along with a peshwari non was delicious. The service was efficient and attentive without being totally in your face.
we both had drinks and were most surprised at the end the bill only came to £45.00 which i thought was very very reasonable, i was expecting it to be more like £60.00.
all in all a wonderful night and a pleasant surprise, we will certainly be going back here again
