Great evening, food was fine

Went here for an evening out with friends one Sunday. Food was fine, plenty of it and reasonably good value. Only potential downside was a surly teenager as our waiter - but it didn't detract from the evening.

    I dropped into Thai Rice on a whim last Sunday night as we rolled home from Frome to Shaftsbury, looking for a spot of dinner. I was pleasantly surprised. Unprepossessing from the outside - indeed, it wasn't obvious the place was more than a takeaway until we were through the door - once we sat down we were looked after well by the friendly and knowledgeable owner and treated to some first-rate Thai red duck curry. I was also impressed to find Mekhong whisky on the menu - a nice touch of authenticity to which our host admitted a fondness too.
